Most questions about this product are asked before anyone signs up: does it work on an iPhone, do my staff need an app, what happens when the free scans run out. Those answers exist across the site, but reading five pages to find one of them is slower than asking. Pip is the shortcut, and he is deliberately available with no account — the same way the scanner link itself is.

Why the assistant is a QR code
Pip is drawn from the QR to Sheets logo. His eyes are the QR position marker that appears in the corner of every QR code, and his brow is the three descending rows that stand for a spreadsheet. He arrives by materialising out of a full QR code that scans itself away — which is, in one animation, exactly what the product does.
He is not a stock illustration or a licensed character. He is the logo, given a face.

Who is Pip?
Pip is the QR to Sheets assistant: a chat panel on every public page of the site. He answers questions about scanning QR codes and barcodes into Google Sheets, pricing, the free plan, setup and the Events add-on.
Do I need an account to ask Pip a question?
No. Pip is free, needs no account and no sign-in, and runs on the marketing and guide pages before you create a workspace. That is deliberate: the field workers who use a scanner link never make an account either.
What can Pip not help with?
Anything specific to your own account. Pip cannot see your workspace, your scans, your Google Sheet, your registered devices or your billing, and he cannot make changes for you. For those, raise a support ticket from the Help page in the admin area and a human answers.
Is Pip a person?
No, and he will tell you so if you ask. Pip is an assistant that answers questions about the product. Anything that needs a human — a billing problem, a failed sync on your own sheet, a refund — goes to a support ticket instead.
Why is the assistant a QR code?
Pip is drawn from the QR to Sheets logo: a QR position marker for his eyes and the descending spreadsheet data rows for his brow. He materialises out of a full QR code when the page loads, which is the product's own job in one animation.
