Bulk QR code generator with printable label sheets

The free QR to Sheets bulk generator turns a pasted list — or a column straight out of Google Sheets — into a QR code for every row. Print them as a label sheet or download them all. No account, no watermark, and the codes never expire.

What people print these for

Classroom attendance

One code per student, printed onto ID cards or taped inside a planner. The teacher scans the class in as they arrive.

Asset and equipment tags

One code per laptop, camera, tool, or instrument, so check-out and check-in is a scan instead of a signature.

Stock and shelf labels

Codes on bins, shelves, and pallets so a stock count is walking the aisle with a phone.

Library and device loans

Codes on textbooks and Chromebooks, scanned out to a student and scanned back in on return.

Room and seat numbers

Codes on doors or desks, so a maintenance round or a seating check is logged by location.

Event badges and passes

One code per guest, printed on badges and scanned at the door.

A QR code does not record anything by itself

Worth being clear about, because it trips people up: a printed QR code just holds text. Something still has to read it and write it down. If you scan one of these with your phone camera, you will see the text — and nothing will be saved.

That is the part QR to Sheets does. You connect a Google Sheet, create a scanner link, and share the URL with whoever is scanning. They open it in a phone browser and every scan writes a timestamped row into your Sheet. No app install, and no accounts for them to create — which matters when it is thirty students, a rotating crew, or temporary staff.

Questions

How do I generate QR codes from a Google Sheets column?+

Select the column in Google Sheets, copy it, and paste it into the box on this page. Each row becomes its own QR code. Then press Print for a label sheet, or download them all as PNG files.

Is there a limit on how many QR codes I can make?+

500 per sheet, which covers a class list, a stockroom shelf, or a full asset register. There is no daily limit and no account needed.

Do these QR codes expire?+

No. They are static codes that contain your text directly, so there is no redirect and nothing to expire. They will still scan in ten years. Many free generators create dynamic codes that stop working when a trial ends — these are not that.

Is it really free, with no signup and no watermark?+

Yes. No account, no email, no watermark, no usage cap on this tool. The codes are generated in your browser, so your list is never uploaded to us.

What label sheets does the print layout support?+

The 3 x 8 layout matches Avery L7160 and 5160 address labels, and 2 x 4 matches L7165 and 5163 shipping labels. The 4 x 6 and 5 x 10 grids suit small square labels and student ID cards. All of them print correctly on plain paper too if you are cutting by hand.

How do I record the scans somewhere?+

A QR code on its own just holds text — something has to read it and write it down. QR to Sheets gives you a link that your team opens in a phone browser to scan these codes into a Google Sheet, with no app install and no accounts for them.

Will these codes scan reliably when printed?+

Yes, if you keep them at a reasonable size. The print layout never renders a code below about 18mm, which is the practical floor for a phone camera at arm's length. Print in black on white and avoid scaling the page down.
